Buttercup

There are no babies in my family/friend circle to knit for at present. And for some reason there’s been a drought on girls when the babies do come. These two factors be damned, I want to knit something very girly and I want to knit it now. The result is “buttercup”:

Buttercup booties and mittens for baby.

A little pattern from Patons craft book No. C.6 (it’s repeated in C.19 too). It’s a bit hard to date these booklets but I’m thinking late 1940s/1950s:

I’ve used up my pink baby wool and I feel I’ve sated my need for cutsey stuff for a while…
…well, okay some cutsey I always have time for (Phin & Poppy spend some time together):
