Well it seems its ambition was to become these:
Not pretty are they. DH seems to like them, but he’s not hard to please. He sees their practical side and their appearance is no issue in his mind. Granted they will be very warm and my old pair of gloves are ready to be retired, but I’m replacing elegant black with clown gloves methinks.
If the pattern seems familiar it’s my old favourite.

Despite their appearance and my post title these are not the result of blending clown wigs and spinning the result, they are in fact a mix of alpaca and merino and will be most toasty - especially since I’ll have to hide my hands in my pockets when I wear them!
