Marguerite Complete
I’ve finished the Marguerite Baby Cardigan that I started a while ago.

I’m not quite as taken by the yarn as I was initially - it’s static cling really annoyed me after a while. It’s easy to get sick of knitting three stitches then having to pause to remove your hair/cat fur/thread/etc. from the work. I admit too I’m rather paranoid about the flammable properties of nylon/acrylic versus wool.
The stitch pattern is sweet, and makes a very elastic fabric.

Yarn aside the pattern was just fine. My tension turned out to be a half stitch over, but on such a small garment that’s not a big issue (that’s my story and I’m sticking with it). I used one 100g ball of Patons Big Baby and had a little to spare. Given the pattern specifies just 2 ozs (57 grams), you can see that, as per usual with vintage patterns, you just can’t trust those yarn quantity claims.
So, to knit this pattern you’ll need about 420 metres of 4ply (fingering) baby yarn, a pair of 2.75mm needles and a pair of 3.25mm needles (but of course you’ll do a gauge swatch to test your tension, won’t you).
